Surf's Up!

Look at a map of the Pacific Ocean and you will see that the peninsula of Baja California is a unique piece of geography. Baja juts out into the Pacific and is exposed to storm- generated swells that can come from the North Pacific in our winter and the South Pacific in their winter. Heavy winter swells travel from northwest to southeast daily along the entire Pacific coast of the Baja Peninsula. With the exception of Hawaii and San Francisco, the waves at Islas Todos Santos off the coast of Ensenada are said to be the biggest in the winter Pacific and the swells at Baja Malibu and Calafia are renowned for their consistency.

At the Beach in front of the Rosarito Beach Hotel (By the Pier)

In Rosarito there are waves for everyone, experts & beginners alike.

During the summer season, right next to the pier that is located in front of the Rosarito Beach Hotel, bars of sand form on the right side. This causes excellent waves to form and break from to the left and vice versa during the winter season. These sand bars make this exciting sport of surfing interesting to everyone.

This area is considered as one of the best surf breaks in the region, and National & International competitions have been held here.

If you wish to learn and experiment this sport, the Rosarito Beach Hotel along with the Escuela De Surf Locales offer you personalized lessons for kids and adults, group lessons, summer camp as well as rental equipment.
